Last October I talked about Hreflang at Brighton SEO, see the video above.
If you are new to Hreflang, but International SEO is important to you, and are wondering if it is worth watching this video and finding out more then put it like this:
“If good technical SEO, is the base on which to build the rest of your SEO efforts. Hreflang is the base on which to build your International SEO efforts.”
Now I am the first one to point out how vital it is to make sure your content is human translated, localised by people in the market, you have a strategy to create contyent that resonates in each market and a user journey that works for them in a way they expect.
But this is all pointless if your Hreflang tags are wrong and Google therefore doesn’t know which content to show in which markets: meaning that your new version of a page can never be seen and people in, let’s say France, keep seeing a page with ,let’s say, English, with prices in US dollars and mentions of free shipping to all mainland US states.
So if you have a website and you are selling to multiple markets or multiple languages (or both), or one market but you don’t know how to tell Google which one market it is you’re relevant to, then do please watch this video and get in touch if you need help with Hreflang or any part of your International SEO Strategy, you can read more about the International SEO Consultancy services I offer here.
