Why do companies need SEO contractors for technical SEO?
Organic search and SEO are very wide fields and it is difficult for everyone to know everything, especially early in one’s SEO career. Even with an SEO team of 10 or 20 people there may not be anyone with experience of certain topics and work. This is especially likely to be true if your company have put together a team to be great for what your company or agency needs 95% of the time. this could be a team of people who are excellent at keyword research, on page optimisation and content writing who only rarely need to think about technical SEO.
While some agencies specialise in technical SEO they may not be right for you the rest of the time and it doesn’t make sense to hire a highly experienced, and therefore expensive Technical SEO expert who won’t have much to do that warrants their skills, most of the time.
This is where a contractor such as myself can come in to fill in a gap when, and only when required, as well as having a wide range of knowledge to fall back on, coming from working across hundreds of clients and websites, in my case this has been in a career of over 20 years in SEO and digital marketing with time in-house and in agencies.
What a Technical SEO Consultant can offer
I am also experienced working with and in web-dev teams to solve underlying issues (such as improving page speed and responsiveness, international setup, migration support) or can manage (and train as required) existing teams to work through more manual fixes (such as redirect mapping, fixing broken links)
